I'd say ramada inn by the board walk but costs some - has a pool... but your best bet is right off the plane go to the info desk in the airport they have nmaes/phone#/ costs of places and will contact the place right there for further questions and arrange a pick up too. Keep in mind the Isle has fallen into rebel Regions who now war constantly As Myself has Departed form Therin and my Swerd doth not Bring Peace and Unity to the Serfs who once were r00led Under me In Awe and Goodness, my Grace being the DIVINE RIGHT OF KINGS ENGLISH Lord Prince of Jeju. |

Don't bother with Jeju. For the price of one weekend in Jeju, you can live it up on the Philippine island of Boracay. |

Forget the expensive hotels bit unless you don't mind paying through the nose(180,000 night). Koreans seem to love to pay top dollar. With expensive hotels we usually attend the buffets and make use of the saunas etc as non-guests whilst booked in a cheap hotel less than a block from the name joint.
Jeju city has reasonably priced hotels(cost should be similar to yogwons on the mainland). Look around and compare if you come in by ferry(watch out for the little old man with the bicycle. he's a tout for a cheap little joint. We changed our minds when we saw a gangster having a bath).
If you fly in, don't get ripped on taxi fares; try to bargain. Study a map of Jeju before you go so as to become knowledgeable about distances and direction. Knowing about buses/routes are a plus too. Read up before you go.
We love to argue for lower rates but oftentimes this can be difficult during peak season as the hotel owners know occupancy can be filled. Grab extra towels and anything else you can if they get hard-nosed about the price. If you see other backpackers, get recommendations from them and check it out(price and room) for yourself.
In one city on Jeju, we arrived via bus without a room(high season and hotels were fully booked) and refusing to pay the rate expected from one yogwon. I went to the nearest mom and pop store and asked them. They rang around and eventually an old lady walked in willing to rent a room in her home(She owned a really modern homestay/timeshare type of multi-story home. ) We took photos and our Korean friends couldn't believe we paid so little for such a place.
I really think Jeju is a nice place with blue ocean reminiscent of the pacific atol countries.
Don't get ripped off. I once read about a esl couple who had posted about how expensive they had found Jeju. Later it was discovered later that they were cheated at every turn.
Have a great holiday. |

That is when we are going, that's why we wanted to stay in a place with a pool--in case it is chilly. Its mid season though so it shouldn't be too bad. |

I visited jeju-do last march. Toured the whole island but especially memorable was a few days spent staying in seongsan, a small village with an extinct volcano crater overlooking the sea. Stayed in guesthouse above a fish restaurant and managed to get a huge double room for only 60,000 per night. I mean you have to see this place to believe it. Three double opening balcony doors and another balcony with private bbq area. Sleeping with doors open even in march, waking up to the sound of the sea....pretty sweet, albeit more of a place to bring a lady friend as there wasn't much happening in the village itself. Climbing the volcano at sunrise was cool and of course being korea it has steps and a viewing platform to deface it....went windsurfing and stuff at Sinyang beach which isnt far from it.. Great time overall. |

i went swimming and sauna at the ramada a few times last year because i lived right next to it. i too heard about the discount thing but i dont think it works for foreigners. i tried. I think they require a certain card. It might be a union thing, i'm really not sure/ cant remember.
If you get your coteacher to book i'm sure it will work |

just stay at a decent hotel across the street from Jungmun resort. You'll be in the same area but for a fraction of the price. Seriously, at this time of the year rooms are about 30,000won |
