Who would raise an iron bar up against two armed police officers? Who does that? I real stupid jack azz! At least that idiot is out of the gene pool. Hope he doesn't have any brats running around in the world.
The police were in the right! At least now the American tax payers don't have to pay for his incarceration and expensive prosecution. |

Only 10 shots for a suspect with a tire iron? Those LA cops were merely coddling the dangerous graffiti terrorist compared to the NY cops who shot Amadou Diallo 41 times in the doorway of his own home whose "weapon" was his wallet! |

I would think that mental illness was a factor, I don't think anyone could be that stupid to raise a weapon to a cop. Maybe I'm wrong.
Either way, the cops had no other choice. I don't see how two shots fired would have been any better or worse. Is there a range of acceptable shots? 1-2---not enough, 3--7 acceptable, 8+, Internal Investigation? Cops are targets no matter where they go, they deserve a little leeway. |

Too ignore 2 police officers pointing guns at you and shouting through loudspeakers, then to walk away pick up a big iron bar and threaten them with it?

Yeah they probably could have shot him in one of his extremities except that this isn't the movies. Aside from the fact there are no second takes in real life you always aim for the body especially with a handgun since it is real easy to miss. Even headshots with a pistol are a real bad idea.
Also for you folks so comfortable denigrating cops behind the safety of your computer (and the safety the cops provide) I have just one question for you. How would you react when every single call or traffic stop could be your last? |
