I am currently happily learning Internal martial arts specifically Real Bagua http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baguazhang (as apposed to wushu forms only bagua) among many other things from Master Ahn Cheol Gyun. Unfortunately like a lot of traditional schools out there he is on the verge of closing down. Basically there are 2 or 3 students including myself on a week night. And I am the only one who turns up in the mornings.
Anyone interested in learning traditional kung fu from a very experienced master is welcome to come check it out. He teaches Cheng, Yin and Liang style Bagua Zhang. He also teaches 5 Element 12 Animal Xing Yi I think he knows 3 styles Hebei, Sun Zhijun and another. He also teaches Tai Chi and knows Yang, Chen, Hun Yuan, Wu and Oh styles. He also was part of the famous Park Bok Nam San Da team in the late 70's so he can teach that as well. He has had 40+ years of learning and practicing.
His History.
He started tae kwon do at a young age and then when he was 17 he was lucky to learn Bagua with Park Bok Nam and Lu Shui Tien who brought it from china. He has been practicing ever since.
His next teacher was Li Zhi Ming who was one of the highest regarded Bagua prationers in the late 20th century. He is now a student of Sun ZhiJun who is one of the most highly regarded that are currently alive.
Here are the names in the Bagua family tree.

A suggestion to find someone in your area is Search http://www.Naver.com with:
태극권 - Taiji
팔괘장 - Bagua Zhang (pakua)
형의권 - Xing Yi (Hsing i)
당랑권 - Tang Lang (Praying Mantis) (Try and find Tai chi Meihua Tang Lang)
팔극권 - Baji Chuan
plus the city or area you live in. You might need a Korean to help you look through the search results.
Good luck! |

His hours (if they haven't changed since last year) are:
Monday to Friday
6am till 10am
4pm till 11:30pm
Saturday
randomly in and out of dojang
Sunday
10am till 8pm
lunch and dinner he may go out but most of the time he stays in.
It is traditional style of teaching - no classes or group activities - everything is customised for what you want and how he thinks it it best for you to het there. You just turn up and do what you have been taught then he will come in and out and correct and teach you more stuff.
Sunday is the closest to a class where 8 students may turn up and they will teach you more stuff too.
Monday to Friday after 8pm till 11:30pm you will get a few serious students turn up and that might turn into a class Or drills as well.
Hope you join up and learn and have as much fun as I did. |

The place sounds really good and exactly what I am looking for. My only problem is the 1.5 hours on the subway or 1 hour on bus/subway commute. I plan on trying it out for a month and going about 3 times a week.
Thanks for your help and good looking out. |

I have recently moved to Korea and saw your old posting. I am not sure if it is still valid but I was curious in this bagua class you posted up. I cannot pm yet but was wondering if classes are still being held in Korea? I recently moved here and was interested in finding out.
thank you,
