Anyone interested in starting a weight loss support group (either with in-person meetings or an online group ) for those in Korea, please respond on this thread or pm me with info about what you'd like to see in a group like this.

I'm in if it gets started. I dont have to list the obvious obstacles surrounding foreigners who are looking to lose or even mantain their weight in Korea, so a support group would be great. I'd be up for meetings, online, or both.

Signed,

Seems there's a suppprt group for every condition under the sun.
The haemoiroids support group, BYO tire tube
The lesbian mothers trying to get pregnant support group, BYO test tube
The jerbil pet owners support group. BYO flashlight
The kicked out of a support group, support group.

So what exactly does a support group do?
Why do we seem to need support groups for everything under the sun?
Is belonging to a support group a pre condition for appearing on Oprah?

Goldmember,

The point of a support group is to be accountable to someone, so that when you are feeling weak ( whether it be losing weight, quitting smoking etc. ) the thought of having to report back to the group may give you the motivation to "stick with the program" . As well, it is a good way to share experiences and info with people who are interested in the same process. No Oprah necessary.

JIh - will check out the group. Thanks...

Go to the health club 4 times a week. don't drink more than 1 beer a day. The rest will take care of itself. It takes time. months, years, but it will happen if you follow those steps.

Eat breakfast everyday.
Exercise at least 4 times a week.
Drink wine, not beer.
It worked for me 35 lbs ago, and I'm still trimming down. It does take some time though.
Good luck Smile

Support groups are a good idea. I like the idea of having others in mind as you endure the contstant wieght loss.
