Caught the humor, no worries.

As for the word itself- never heard it before today, I'm just good with Google. there's a discussion of the word, in the comments here too:

Poodle-faker? Never heard of that one before, other slang for homosexuals around where I live include:
"sausage-smoker"
"chutney-ferret"
"brown-speedboat-rider"

It is not like any gay person has the death wish to come out of the closet in small town England. So these names remain adominable slurs to a mans character.
