|
|
I have a wireless keyboard/mouse combo that a friend gave me a while back and want to connect it to my PS3. I've connected the base unit (where the mouse charges) into the USB slot but when it scans for devices, it takes forever so I don't think it recognizes it.
I checked the PS3 site and it said that I have to prepare the device before it scans. Not sure what that means. I have a driver for it somewhere but it's one of those small CDs so I'm pretty nervous about sticking it in the PS3.
I think that my combo may not be compatible with PS3 but was wondering if anyone successfully connected a wireless keyboard/mouse and if so, which brand. I don't think mine is even bluetooth if that matters at all.
Can anyone help me out? Thanks. |

You might have to go in and enable it in the system menu. I can't remember, but I do know there is a command somewhere in there for keyboard.
Don't bother with the driver... it won't be compatible.
My HP remote keyboard and mouse work on my PS3. |

Yeah, I think you're talking about enabling a bluetooth device. I tried that already and I don't think mine is bluetooth.
Can you let me know what model number your keyboard and mouse is, where you got it, and how much?
I'm also trying to do remote play with my PSP. It recognizes the PS3 but I always get an error message everytime it tries to connect. Anyone have any experience with this? I've searched everywhere and a lot of people have the same problem but couldn't find a viable solution. I've downloaded all the proper firmwares for both systems and followed the directions to a tee.
I love my PS3 but it's way too complicated for the non-tech savvy like myself |

The keyboard and sensor I got came with the base unit I purchased with my laptop. It should work on yours. I haven't read of others having this problem.
When you use a wireless keyboard, you need to push the "seach" button on the mouse receiver, and the mouse so that they can find each others' signal. Did you try that? |

Yeah, I tried that but it just kept on saying 'scanning' on the PS3 so I don't think it recognizes it. Does it matter if it's bluetooth or not?
Thanks for the info. |
