Can anyone confirm that I can travel to North Korea and then get back in to South Korea wihtout a multiple entry visa?

My travel agent continues to write that I can visit North Korea, but seems very hesitant ot put in writing that I will be able to get back in to the south on my current single visa, although they are happy to assure me of it verbally.

Does anyone have any information?

You didn't leave enough information to give a completely accurate answer so... generally speaking (I am assuming you are here on an E1 / E2 or E7 visa):

If you leave the country you will need either a multi-entry visa or a re-entry permit to get back in without having your current visa cancelled.

You can obtain a re-entry permit at the airport or at your local immigration office. A single re-entry permit is 30k won and a multiple re-entry permit is 50k won. You will need to show your ARC, passport and fill in an application as well as pay the fee.

If you are talking about a trip to the DMZ / Panmunjom you do NOT need a re-entry permit.

No, it's not the DMZ, but an overnight trip to Mount Kamgung. Any idea about that?

You're correct, I'm on an E2, but I don't have my ARC yet, so getting a re-entry visa would be tricky.
