2008 is the worst year yet for me in Korea. I will lose precisely *2* days of work because of public holidays. That's rubbish. Also my school's birthday is on a Saturday this year.. so one more holiday lost. What a terrible year.

Oh well. It's a middle of the week day anyway. Even without that, I think the year looks good for public holidays. Can't beat 7 long weekends.

Well yes, but as I said in my OP I was talking about ME, not you. Anyway I don't work Feb 6/7/8. May 5, May 12, March 6, Sep 15, Oct 3 or Dec 25th anyway. (All MONDAYS, which I have off, or vacation time anyway).

On the positive side for me there are 52 long weekends (again) this year. (I'm a d1ck today, sorry, I should have been studying Korean but I drank soju instead)

So in other words, "Hey everybody! I don't work Mondays!"

Yeah maybe. But also, CHUSEOK SUCKS this year. Last year there were like.. 2? 3? days off. This year just 1. That is lame. If I was a Korean leader who wanted to be popular I'd implement a 'carrying-forward/backward-holidays-which-fall-on-weekends-to-
before/after-the-weekend-policy. One of the weakest ever pro-Korea arguments I've ever heard is that it has a lot of public holidays. That argument is a lie which needs to be brought down. It might have a fair few holidays technically, but in any given year its well behind most nations in the world. (And bring back Arbor day, Constitution day, and the other one they used to have which I forget the name of)

Since when is March 6 a Monday? Isn't the holiday March 1 (Saturday)?

October 3 seems to be a Friday, too.
