Would you accept 2.3, no benefits (not even housing) and 80 days of paid vacation at a public school? OK Recruiting talked with me about this position.

In other words you would not have to teach when school is in session ( hey , what an idea!) and you would have all other Korean national ( red days) off?

That is exactly the type of position I would like.

Paid Summer and Winter plus National Holidays is my take on it.

Nope, because the school is going to get the full share of English Teacher pay and someone is going to pocket a lot of money by sacrificing the benefits they are required to provide according to the MOE. I would steer clear of it like it was the plague.

What is having a normal public school teachers time off worth?

You know, I still cannot believe that there are idiots working here in public schools who are at school during vacations. You are acting like 3D workers who have no power here. Wimps you are! And even with the new regulations and the difficulty that Korea is going to have in getting teachers here, you will still put up with it!

You could easily make up for the benefits lost in other ways if you had any brains at all as far as the money goes.

Coming from the USA with more than 18 years of classroom experience as a certified and licensed educator, I quickly discovered that what regicide is talking about. This is why I determined to gain more benefits by sticking up for myself. It has paid great benefits.
