sounds a little odd, he put her chair in the corner so the other kids wouldn't know what was going on, aye? If this is just a mother raising hell over her little darling being admonished for bad behaviour then this is an example of when it's fine and dandy for a guy to punch a woman squarely on the jaw.

My B.S. filter is ringing loudly. The audacity to molest a child during class in front of other students??? I think ceesgetdegrees may be on the right track. "How dare he single out my child!"

With 17,000 or so ESL teachers in Korea, statistically speaking it is probable that at least one is likely to be a child abuser.

Also, statistically, it is probable that sooner or later a false accusation of child abuse would be made against an ESL teacher.

What seems highly unlikely is that a teacher would or could sexually abuse a child during a class.

We should not jump to conclusions, just as Korean officials should not.

But the fact is Korea has created the foundation for a state of hysteria against Western ESL teachers here.

That this should happen, was predictable. It is just a short step from a student saying "Yankee go home!" because he heard it from other kids or from parents, to saying "child abuser."

And one accusation, whether true or false, is likely to lead to more. That's the way it has worked elsewhere.
