U.S. To Study Bizarre Medical Condition
By MIKE STOBBE, AP Medical Writer
ATLANTA - It sounds like a freakish ailment from a horror movie: Sores erupt on your skin, mysterious threads pop out of them, and you feel like tiny bugs are crawling all over you. Some "experts" believe it's a psychiatric phenomenon, yet hundreds of people say it's a true physical condition.
It's called Morgellons, and now the government is about to begin its first medical study of it.

Divisive national anthem lyrics ditched
MADRID (Reuters) - Proposed new lyrics for Spain's national anthem have stirred national divisions rather than pride and have been scrapped, the Spanish Olympic Committee said Wednesday.
Spain's "Royal March" national anthem has been played without words since 1978, when lyrics approved by right-wing dictator Francisco Franco were ditched.
With the Beijing games approaching, Spain's Olympic committee held a competition to find new words for the anthem rather than see its athletes hum along or chant "la, la, la," as has long been the case.
But the winning version was leaked and met derision in the Spanish media and among members of parliament responsible for approving the lyrics.
The anthem's opening words, "Long live Spain!" had an authoritarian ring to them and one prominent left-wing leader said they "stank" of the Franco era. |

so this disease, until this day, was the domain of conspiracy kooks and the only place you could find mention of it was conspiracy websites has gone mainstream. sounds like the conspiracy kooks nailed another one.
what is that? 3 conspiracy kook theories fleshed out in one week: fluoride is poison, morgellans is real and the vietnam era build up/ granting of war powers to LBJ via the tionkin gulf was a manufactured hoax.
wow.
can the iranian naval incident and vote fraud in NH be far behind (in 30 more years)?
i think gandhi had a quote about this. first they ridicule you, then they fight you, then they accept you.
just keep feeding his persecution complex. |

This is a really good cookie recipe that I posted on the General Forum, but I doubt many of you saw it, so here it is again:
Gingerbread Cookies
INGREDIENTS
 1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups white sugar (dark brown)
 1 egg
1 1/2 tablespoons orange zest (or more)
2 tablespoons dark corn syrup (Korean rice syrup)
 3 cups all-purpose flour
 2 teaspoons baking soda
 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
 1 teaspoon ground ginger
 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
 1/2 teaspoon salt
DIRECTIONS
1. Cream the butter and the sugar together. Add the egg and mix well. Mix in the orange peel and dark corn syrup. Add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, ground cloves and salt, mixing until well combined. Chill dough for at least 2 hours, I like to chill overnight.
2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough out to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters. Place cookies 1 inch apart on the prepared cookie sheets. (Maybe 1 1/2 because these cookies spread quite a bit.)
3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until cookies are firm and lightly toasted on the edges. (Check at 8 minutes.) |

Ya-ta,
Those cookies sound really good. Maybe if we put some magic mushrooms in them, we can be just as parnoid as other people in this forum. |

Why bother. If they find it's just hysteria, the very people will claim it's a government conspiracy. |

IGTG has been a little quiet tonight. A case of hurt feelings?
I'd like to think people weren't piling on, but rather were just offering some constructive criticism. |
