What about getting a public school job? You'd be stuck at school 40 hrs a week, but your max hours before OT pay are about 22 and after OT pay about 28. PLENTY of time for prepping unless you choose to load up on afterschool pay. Also plenty of time to rest, study Korean, jerk off on the internet, whatever. |

I think there are jobs like that available. My friend told me that one of her friends in Seoul will be looking for a teacher working 1 - 5 around February/March.
I work at a hagwon at the moment and usually work 3 - 7:15. However, the school has no textbooks, so I must prep and source everything. |

I've thought about public, but I don't know if I like the idea of being *at* school for that long. |
How mny hours are you currently working at a hogwan? |

I think you just need to apply for jobs at schools with kindy and tell them what your willing to do. Ignore the hours they post for the job. Schools are always desperate for teachers especially now and if you told them what you wanted I think some of them will allow it. |

OMG! Stay away from kindy! That will lock you into a hogwan from sunup to sundown. |

Ignore the job ads and the contract? BAD advice. |

Yeah I never said anything about the contract. What I meant by my post is that when looking at job ads you'll hardly ever see any jobs with a small amount of hours. But if you contact the school or recruiter with what you want they may be able to work something out for you.
I had a friend who was able to extend his contract at his school only teaching mornings. |

Short teaching hours? Are they possible? |
Small hagowns with no kindy program in the boondocks of Korea will get you what you seek.
You only run the risk of the boss vanishing with your pay, pension, and taxes one weekend. |

I'm not quite at what you're looking for, but close.
Very little prep work (totally up to you, nothing's required), 30 hours a week (2-8, Monday to Friday), and I only teach private 1-on-1's on Tuesdays and Thursdays. |

I work 4 or 5 teaching hours a day--no prep--no meetings; usual pay / benefits.
After I get off work then go to the gym and finish up there, it is still too early to go out and meet friends as they are probably just getting off then. |
