dreaming of adventure on my far away return home. anybody know the cheapest way to get from russia to alaska (not including extradition)? maybe i'll pan for gold then head on over to ft. mcmurray.

The airlink between Russia and Alaska used to be operated by "Mavial Magadan airlines" however it was suspended about 2 years ago.

However "Vladivostok Avia" is going to re-launch the route soon with flights. "Bering Air" also has charter flights from places like Magadan and Anadyr.

The best bet is to consult Vladivostok Avia directly (they have an office in Seoul). No Korean travel agency would have a hope of knowing an itinerary for such flights, so you would have to deal with a Russian speaker directly at the airline.

The route would be something like: Incheon > Vladivostok > Petropavlovsk > Anchorage and it would not be cheap. Infact I don't think flights have officially started as yet, but they will soon. Expect to pay at least 1.5 to 2.0 million one way.

If you are determined enough to do it - it will be totally worth it --- there is nowhere else quite like the Russian far *far* east --- especially if you stop over at some of these very far flung places en-route.
