Where are you getting 187 for Clinton? Michigan's delegates do not count toward the number for the nomination. The national Dem party will not seat the delegates from Michigan. |

Freaking amazing. I didn't think I could get more disgusted with the Democratic party. As a borderline autocrat I'm not sure why this type of elitism bothers me, but it does. Sweet Jesus, no wonder the establishment always carries the Democratic nomination.
Thanks, Dave. I learned something today. I may register as a Libertarian or Indy next time. |

I won't. I've been a registered Dem for the 10 years I've been able to vote, and I've put up with alot. This may be the last straw. |

Hey, I met George McGovern on the streets of Rapid City, South Dakota in '68 and told him he was a moral midget for supporting Bobby Kennedy over Gene McCarthy. Four years later the Dems nominated McGovern. If I can suffer through that debacle, you can surely suffer Hillary Clinton (who is a nice lady if you meet her face-to-face.) |

Czar,
No problem. I understand how you feel. There may not be much of choice when November rolls around if Ms. Enivitably wins. We may be yet again faced with choice of the lessor of the two evils. |

Depending on the state -- some states require primary voters to belong to the party holding the election -- this spiteful act might have the effect of further alientating you from the process. |

See Milwaukiedave's links, above.
Also, we have clarified this before: the American political system is a democratic republic and not a direct democracy. But, this notwithstanding, the American electoral process remains more direct-democratic than that which empowers, say, the Canadian Senate. |

Right. But the tally is misleading. Superdelegates can be swayed one way or the other before the convention. Walter Mondale managed to get enough Superdelegates to support him even though he was short 40 delegates in 1984. |

Ah, ok. I find the 'Superdelegates' an interesting premise - kind of like... superheroes |
