Soraksan is nice but it wouldn't call it hiking. I went there over the summer and waited in a line for about an hour just to go up the side of a mountain in a gondola. It was cool at the top but it wasn't really hiking per say.

I will be doing Gwanaksan or Bukhansan in Seoul if you're in the area and want someone to hike with.
