| Statistically, one person in every aircraft that passes near the northern lights will develop cancer of some type because of it. The industry keeps this secret to itself but doesnt explain how crew are supposedly kept safe or more than likely they have no idea either. |

workplace secret: hotel rooms are filthy stinkholes. i bring my own sleeping bag. they never wash bedcovers. they never clean the remotes. if you must use them, put em in a clear plastic bag. shower shoes always. |

the placenta story reminded me of this.
years ago when i worked as a reporter i discovered that when people are embalmed and their blood is replaced with fluid, the blood itself is just flushed down the sewer and goes to the local lagoon. that's creepy, but check this out:
the entrails removed before embalming are usually sent to a crematorium and in a bid to save money the crematoriums burn pets and humans and human entrails and medical waste all at the same time in one massive fire.
next time you view your "loved-ones" ashes with reverence, you might as well revere your vacuum dust bag at the same time. |

Don't ever go to India. Or any really crowded place actually. Your phobias will overwhelm you. Your ideal of a sterile world where we have contact with few others is built on a fiction about germs and blown out of porportion risk assessments regarding contagious disease.
Seriously. |

Certain pubs in Holborn, London think nothing of dropping your entire meal onto the floor and then rearranging it on the plate and serving it to you.
But I'm sure this is true of plenty of places.... |

When I was about 18 in Toronto, I worked at a McDo for a month. It was the month the pope came to Toronto. The one on Younge street just above Queen.
One day while flipping burgers I started coughing.....and coughing. Finally, with a really solid involuntary hack, a big chunk of phlegm came up.....and landed in the middle of a burger. We were doing a "turn lay 6" with Big Mac patties. At that moment, Richie, the general manager walked up and asked me how it was going. I was too embarassed to say anything about the phlegm I had just hacked up, cause I thought he might think I left it there on purpose and only said anything cause he was there....so I said nothing....
Someone ate it. |

I used to work at a department store back in Canada.
I almost had an affair with an older Lebanese woman co-worker until I met her husband. He somehow found out there was some heavy flirting between me and his wife and threatened to kill me if I kept talking to her.
I also used to work at an ice cream parlour in high school. During night shifts we would regularly call up a pizza place or hamburger joint and make trades for foods.
