Inspired by all the recent cheese polls, the real question is:
With our limited luggage space, which cheese will (or have you) you pack(ed) along with you to South Korea?
My answer:Dubliner, Manchego, Pecorino Romano, Mizithra, and I can't help it but I love Reny Picot Camembert!
(If they sell any of the hard cheeses at Korea Costco, I'll likely pack more clothes or shoes.) |

luggage space is better spent on more important things than perishables that can be purchased in Korea. |

You serious? I've read the advice of packing cheese at least a few times on various threads here. So you're telling me all these are available in Korea? If so, that would seriously save me time and a possible mishaps with my check-in luggage.
Can I really get real cheese in Korea |

Sure. No problem.
Every supermarket in Korea has real individually wrapped slices of processed yellow stuff labelled "cheddar," with about 15 percent cheese and 85 percent goop.
What more could you want? |

If caught, you will be fined. (But some good friends of mine routinely bring cheese back from Yerp, so it's definitely possible). |

Still a very limited selection compared to an average grocery store back in Montreal. Even a SMALL grocery store back home has a bigger selection and variety. And that's not even counting cheese shops...
My favourite cheese shop in Montreal had an owner who could recommend to me cheeses that I would like, but haven't tried before. He knew my tastes and was usually right on the money. Anyway, he would always give me tastes of new cheeses. I would LOVE a cheese shop like that here!
Even if you can get SOME imported cheese, it's still a very small selection, and usually at high prices. You can bet that when I go back home, if I were going to come back to Korea (which is likely), I will buy big blocks of less common cheeses to bring back with me. |

I'm not bringing any cheese.
And not just because I don't know what the heck I would do with it while at the mandatory week-long EPIK orientation. |
