22 days and counting - and praying - and hoping - and ... well, you get the picture.
When I look out at the snow through the bars on my prison (err, classroom) window, I can't believe I've given Korea 3 years of my life (and 2 sizes off my waist). I guess some chaps are just slow learners. |

18 weeks and 1 day, though that's a Tuesday, so I'll probably extend until Friday. |

Any leisure plans before your return to the land of high taxes?
Other than that, I have no idea...love my job, live in a small area so I commute on the weekends...plan on renewing so no idea other than contract ends Sept 1
Good luck to you |

Oh yeah. I am seriously considering going to Vietnam at the end of my contract for a month or two.
And then back to Canada for good!
But then again.. having been in Korea so long I'd say there's a 10% to 20% chance I might not leave quite yet. This is my second year at this particuar job and the director plus his wife are being awfully sweet to me recently, buying my lunches, smiling extra, I think they're buttering me up for a re-sign request. So there is a chance I might stay one more (half) year, but only because I have a great negotiating position: I'm willing to walk away if I don't get what I want (two fridays off every month... not an extreme request as I used to have every friday off when i started at this hagwon but over the last eight months they've 'needed' me to work fridays). Two long weekends every month will mean I'll be able to finish traveling to places in Korea that have eluded me (e.g., Andong mask dance festival, Incheon islands camping, etc).
In any event, I'm taking some time off at the end of my contract and getting the end-of-contract bonus pay. |
