I heard from a friend that new president is decidedly against the new changes to the E-2. Has anyone else heard this? Any citations?

Well the guy seems decidedly more pro free market, so it's not a major stretch of the imagination.

Why would a person in favor of economic liberalization object to protecting children from child molesters? That doesn't make any sense.

You clearly haven't read much about the new E-2 regulations or how they won't stop child molesters. It sounds like you've been watching Korean news without questioning it.

Ya all the new regs seem to do for the most part make life difficult for your average law abiding English teacher and those with minor convictions which are nothing to do with child abuse impossible in Korea while sex offenders who make sure that they don't take the risk of getting caught in their home countries have nothing to fear what so ever from the new visa regulations.
