"he was pretty cute for a western guy" = you consider Western people to be lower on the cute scale than others,
so you as a Western person would be lower on the cute scale as well.

What a doosh. He's an A-List celebrity. He had money, fame, a family, and great health. And yhe just flushed it all away.

Congratulations, can we put this guy up on the Darwin Awards?

He already reproduced so no. Rolling Eyes

Sad. I had him pegged as lame from some of his earlier stuff, but he'd really grown past it.

Apparently uncomfortable with his "fame"; still an unobvious surprise. I could have thought of a lot of others who are more likely to be found lifeless these days.

At least he was able to finish "The Dark Knight". How does a gay cowboy get to play the Joker?

Those Hollywood people may have tons of money and fame, but they are a sad bunch.

You're a douche for assuming it was suicide.

Stock market goes to hell and Heath Ledger dies.

Best news I've heard all day.

The rapture is nigh.

You like Korean effeminates in pink shirts who carry your purse and throw you down the stairs.

You think an actor most famous for playing a flaming cowboy is pretty cute. Quelle surprise.

Although I'm not into the cult of celebrity, it's sad-a good life with a kid.

You think he was murdered? If it was foul-play then I'll take back my words. If he ODed then he's a worthless POS.

Yes, cute for a western guy..since I'm not so attracted to western guys. But, if he ween't famous, he'd just be some random ugly guy on a scruffy day. On a scruffy day, he looked like any random redneck in small town America. Nothing special...I'd say he killed himself. I think people just don't want to think he did because he is famous. Whooptee-whoopers. I believe he ended his life. Oh, and I didn't see Brokeback Mountain...didn't want to...I liked 10 Things I Hate About You...I saw that one many times.

Great PR move for the Batman flick.

In all seriousness, it's just as likely he accidentally overdosed on pills as anything else.

The Brad Renfro thing was interesting--in Joe Etzerhas' last book "Hollywood Animal", he takes Renfro to a Dodgers game, where the kid (then age 16) proceeds to cuss out the owner, to which the owner tells Joe:

"He won't live to see twenty".

So he was off by five years.
