The part in question is indeed wrong/discrimanatory/etc.
I have to ask is it really any worse than the countless job postings which want female applicants only, or those which prefer younger applicants, or perhaps the countless ad's which do discriminate, but only at a later date (rejecting applications with a half-baked excuse, when the real reason is quite obvious) wasting the time of the applicant? I've read lots of anecdotal evidence on this forum regarding that.
It's quite sad really, I've only been here a pretty short time, and I'm already beginning to feel jaded on these sorts of issues.
PS. It's 7 countries, not 6. Finally, I always wonder with these posts how do they know said applicant is a native speaker: I know quite a few Canadians/South Africans whose first language is not English. (Perhaps, this could be used in an argument in support of expanding the list eligible countries?) |

If a person has lived in one of the accepted countries for 10 years, they qualify (probably past 10 years).
Yes this add is worse than asking for females only, or not hiring older applicants IMO. You could be female, young, but if your skin isn't white they're not willing to accept you.
"PS. It's 7 countries, not 6"--let me see, Canada; US; United Kingdom; South Africa; Australia; New Zealand...i only count 6, what am i missing?[/quote] |

If you sent a resume with a nobel prize and Professorship of Lingusitics at Harvard, they wouldn't hire you if you look like:
