I applied directly to the EPIK program. Here it says that we should sign and return our contracts in January:

Has anyone received their contract yet? |

yeah, i've been kinda stressing about that myself. i passed the phone interview and have sent all my stuff to the EPIK office in seoul. presumably, they're forwarding stuff to the immigration bureau. but i haven't gotten an email or anything from them in a while. they acknowledged about a week ago that they received my stuff in the mail, but didn't really say anything beyond that. i guess they'll send a visa issuance pin number (if you don't have one) in the coming weeks? |

I applied for an EPIK position through a recruiter, who emailed me Saturday last (the 19th) to say that the relevant documents would be sent to me (and others from abroad, I presume) this week. |

That's the same as me. I was told to confirm my address and to start looking for flights as the documents would be with me soon. |

Uh huh.
I'm freaking out over the fact that all the cheap perfect time flights (there were at least 3 of them on the Air Canada webpage! plus a ton of other not quite right options!) have mysteriously vanished. They're just fucking gone. There is one flight left on the site for that day, and it is $3300. What the hell? |

That's remarkably expensive but just tell EPIK/your recruiter that is the only flight and they'll have to pay it. I just hope you have the money now to buy the flight before they give you your compensation. |

Thank you for posting! I'm been stressing about this all week. So I'm guessing sometime next week ...
Anyone else getting last minute jitters? |

I wouldn't worry too much.
Koreans in general are extremely last-minute.
As for your flights, try mobissimo or northwest. |

this may be slightly off topic, but i just got an email from my recruiter saying that the EPIK coordinator has not received my transcripts yet.
i contacted my university registrar, and they confirmed that they had sent the transcripts to EPIK on 1/8/08. we double-checked the address and whatnot. transcripts were sent on the 8th. why wouldn't they have shown up?
so i guess i'll send this stuff again. this makes no sense. |

There are some cheaper ones on different sites. (They are twice as long though. 14 hours was bad enough! ) I'm just wondering why the flights would disappear. Sold out? That many people are flying from Vancouver to South Korea on that day?
Technically, I have enough to buy that flight, but I'd be absolutely screwed if something went wrong and I had to come home early with no reimbursement. |

Awesome, thank you! That Mobissimo site has a lot of flights in my area. |

Juskajo - the sending and receipt of transcripts took ages for me, too. A couple of weeks to get from university to EPIK (I'm here in NZ). They'll get there soon - you'll just have a super-compressed timeframe to sort out all the other stuff.
It the end, it won't matter though because EPIK can't do without us |

that is VERY encouraging to hear. i just think it's odd that it only took roughly 5-6 business days for my other stuff to get there. that my transcript was supposedly sent off by the university weeks ago - not just requested, but stamped and mailed off - seems really odd, unless they're sending it via some top-secret, high-tech, super-secure battalion fleet to ensure that it's not tampered with. maybe that's why i'm unable to track it. |

I'm not with EPIK but I know how most things work with the program. I was wondering about one thing though...
I know you guys jump up a level after two years (If you don't gain more qualifications in the meantime) and your salary increases...
However, can anyone tell me if you get a pay increase after ONE year? Does your salary go up 100,000 won? |
