"filipino americans score the highest on the SAT Verbal in America out of any ethnicity.
i think filipinos would be good. sucks they were colonized by spain for so long, but i guess if a benefit of getting colonized by a western country means they can teach english in korea, then i guess at least something good came out of it."
Ummm.... the Philippines was indeed colonized by Spain, BUT Spain was not then, and is not now, an English speaking country so how on earth would colonization by a non-English speaking country qualify one to teach English? 400 years of Spanish colonization would be about as good for English speaking in the Philippines as it would be in Mexico.
This poster seems to be misplacing the source of the relative proficiency in English of Filipinos. The fact is that the Philippines was also colonized by America in 1896. And they, not Spain, was the result of the English we now see in the Philippines.
I don't care if Filipinos teach English but, man, what a silly argument. Can you guess who made it?

Could it possibly be the same guy who thinks we'd be entertained by seeing a 60 year old raped; or thinks that we actually give a rats ass about whom white girls are dating?
I wonder what color the sky is in his world.

Indeed. Ironically, for this posters argument, the Anglicisation of the Philippines didn't begin until Spanish colonization ended, and that was Just Another Day in the long history of Filipino colonization. |

You won't find any statistics to support the claim because it's untrue. It's a lie. |

And hari defies you to prove otherwise. |

I wouldn't defy it because I didn't make it. The quote was lifted from Just Another Day in another thread.
Perhaps, if he's not to busy fantasizing about white women, he can swing by and explain to us how 400 years of Spanish colonization would translate into good English skills. |

I'm sincerely praying for the sake of his eternal soul that he has something better to do. And I'm not even slightly religious. |

You're not hari. Hari said "it's untrue. It's a lie." and I said "and hari defies you to prove otherwise" in reference to hari's statement, not yours. |

I want to know how Filipino-Americans' skills on a test in America relates to the skills of Filipinos from the Philippines.
I'd also like to know how the OP missed the roughly 100 years of colonization of the Philippines by the United States. |

We both know it has absolutely zero relevance. |
