Has anyone gone horseback riding in Korea? Not some mini, guide-led little trail riding. Something independent and substantial. I'd appreciate any tips. If not in Korea, elsewhere in Asia?

Are there free ranges anywhere in Korea nowadays?

Lonely Planet mentions nothing about them. The Moon Handbook says on Jejudo there are a couple places near jJungmun and San'gumburi that let you ride "Jeju ponies." 20,000 won for 30 minutes, all gentle, guided and no galloping.

There was a family on Jejudo on the beach just north of Hallim beach offering rides on the beach, very gentle, not what you are looking for.

And now a song about horses: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnhKUm4HitU
