|
|
A new help center for foreigners in Korea opened in Gwanghwamun in Seoul yesterday. The difference between this and previous incarnations is that it actually offers useful services in English, Japanese, Chinese, French, Mongolian and Vietnamese. The services include:
- Cellphones. Any foreigner with an ARC card can get a contract cellphone WITHOUT a deposit.
- Credit card. Any foreigner who has been employed for more than 6 months in a company worth more than $50k can apply for a credit card.
-Drivers Licenses. Any foreigner with a valid licence from more than 120 countries can instantly acquire a Korean drivers licence.
- Visa extension. Apparantely you can also extend your visa here.
- Tax certificates to show you've paid taxes here.
It seems like you'll be able to do lots of useful things in one place rather than having to travel to multiple different places with a translator to help you. Sounds good.
