I am preparing to come to teach a second year in Korea. This time around I will bring my Filipina wife. Anyone else with a wife from the Philippines?

There are lots of people here who are married to a Pinay.

Pop into the Pinoy store behind the Philippine embassy one afternoon and you will meet lots of them.

IF you are wondering about getting her here, IF you have your ARC, an F3 (dependant family - spouse visa) takes about 2 weeks days from application to her arrival assuming you have all the necessary documentation (like marriage licence) and she has her passport AND her CFO certificate.

Apply for the visa confirmation (4-7 days)
send it to her (1-day)
she goes to the Korean embassy in Manila (1-2 days)
Apply for the visa (4-7 days)
catch a plane and come here.

.

Thanks for the info. Ttompatz. You seem to know a lot about the PI, are you married to a Pinay?

Ttompatz got it all right. Make sure she has authenticated marriage certificate from the NSO. Where are you going to be living by the way?

I almost married a filipina TV reporter from ABS-CBN about 8 years ago. She was working on a show with Korina Sanchez at the time.

I won't reveal her name here, as she is still a reporter for the network, and has since married. She was gorgeous, had a great job, and it was sort of odd having people from Luzon to Palawan stopping us to talk at every-other mall we shopped at. She was great, but we weren't the right match for each other.

Culturally, the "little white lies" just to make you comfortable with every situation didn't work for me. I appreciate the truth, even when it's not positive.

I don't see how a western guy can stand that, but everyone is different, and to each his own.

Yeah, she's been here a year now and is getting quite accustomed to K-Land. All the women in town are very kind to her, one lady at the grocers makes her call her mom and she has many friends at the fitness club.

My wife, she is originally from North Luzon, Tuguegarao city in Cagayan.

She is finishing her computer science degree and will be here soon after she graduates in mid-April. We dated a long time before getting married, her family has been family friends with mine for a while as well.

I miss her every day. I'm way too blessed.

I'm happily married to a Davao girl. My problem is how to get her a visa to the US. It seems a teacher's income doesnt count toward the affidavit of support. Anyone encounter this problem yet?

She looks quite attractive and you also have all the family support.
What more could a guy ask for.

What little white lies do you mean. Is this while living in the Philippines?
