				| I just had my last bottle of tsingdao, and it was so good, and crisp, and delicious. Now I drank the last can of cass and it tastes flat and horrible. I wish I lived closer than 90 minutes round trip to a store with import beer. I know we have all said it, but why is korean beer so, uninspired? | |

				| As I just choked down another (c)ASS red.....
 I completely agree.

Korean beer is truly the worst beer in the world.

ps. try the(c)ASS red. At least you get drunk enough to remember it tastes bad.

I think Koreans think "beer, good, lets have some" and are happy with the results. Like pizza, chinese food, italian food, nachos, hamburgers, steak.

Steak? I think I'm going to start a thread complaining about steak.

				| Hite Stout. It is the cheapest beer in the store, and it tastes much better than any other Korean beer, IMO. | |

				| I would recommend Cass Ice Lite. While this is niether ice nor light, it is a sad attempt at something that resembles a dry beer.
This said, do avoid the plastic bottle for any kind of beer. Plastice increases the a$$ quotient for any beer.

And if you can afford it, drink Asahi.

				| I actaully like Cass as long as I have no more than 2.
Fortunately I'm near not only a store that sells Bud on the cheap, but a 15 minute walk from a Chinese place that has Tsingtao.

Drinking Hite should be made illegal.

				| I think that the cASS s-HITE and OB all taste pretty much the same, bad.
Cafri is actually not that bad, in fact its really good, I even prefer it to Becks.

				| I dont like Korean beer, but then again Japanese Asahi, Sapporo is crap imo. They make Budweiser taste like nectar. I want cheap Guinness tho. Where can I find that?! | |

In a blind taste test, you wouldn't know the Stout was a Korean beer.

				| I've had the stout. Evil hangovers if you have 2 liters. Not that you should. Problem is the locals don't drink it. So its as far away as any other beer. | |

Yeah, why is that? I was drinking Stout last time I was out in Hongdae, and it was 1200 per bottle. Then they ran out quickly and I had to drink Cafri which was 1300 and crappier. It's like reverse capitalism. We used to empty the Stout section of the 7/11 across from Skunk every Saturday, so they stopped stocking it for a couple years.

Other than that, Korean beer is the worst in Asia. Oops, I mean South Korean beer. I think it's because they're using American beers like Budweiser as their model (although I'd rather have most Korean beers than a Bud).

I just ate a Twinkie and it was sweet, moist and truly the most wondrous pastry I have ever eaten.

Seriously guys, you need to get out more and try one of the, oh, 1,000 beers in the world that are light years ahead of a cheap bottle of Tsingdao. And of course Korean beer is one small step up from cold urine.

				| I recently bought a six-pack of something simply called "Black Beer Stout", and while it's not a patch on a real stout, it's actually tolerable. I'll take it over Cass or Hite any day. | |

It's actually a Hite beer. You're the fifth person in this thread to mention it.

				| cass and korean beer are all pretty flavourless, but i don't think tsingtao is any better. do what i did when i was stuck in poland complaining about the beer. invite a few friends over, buy a variety of beers, korean and imported, and have a blind taste test party and get hammered doing it.
you'll probably be surprised with the results. we were.
