| While I am not a gamer, I have been very pleased with my HP w2207 monitor. I have had it nearly a year with no problems. I am sure that some people are going to jump on this and talk about the newer monitors having better resolution, response time, and ICR, but it is in the price range that you specified. I have no complaints with this monitor whatsoever. |

| Personally, I don't much like Yongsan/Sunin Plaza. Most shops have basically nothing new-ish on the shelves with fixed prices. You ask for something and the first thing they do is get on the phone! They are calling other salesmen for whatever you asked for. To me, that means that you're buying off two guys, so two profit margins. A pissy way to do business if you ask me. |
Not necessarily. I just look at it as the guy they call is the wholesaler who keeps a large stock and this allows the smaller shops to have access to lots of stuff without having to carry a large inventory.
You do this anytime you buy anything from a store. Every level from the manufacturer to the wholesaler to the warehouse to the store takes a cut and increases the price.

I think you're becoming too used to the Korean way of doing things kprrok!! Been here too long!?
Remember, if you go into PC World in Europe or the States, you will see a few of each thing they have in stock with a price on it. That's what I like to see. It means that a store can undercut the others if they want to sell more of something. Healthy competition which favors you and me. The customer.
In Korea, they don't want to put a sticker-price on something because they are hoping to charge too much for it. Plus, they don't want to actually buy in stock from the wholesaler in case they can't sell it. Both practices aren't customer friendly. |

Yeah, I have been here too long! I do my homework on what I'm looking for and see what they should be according to danawa, compuzone, and some other sites. Then I go to Yongsan and try to get as close to or below that price.
For my computer on Saturday, I've got a list, and I'm gonna try to get it cheaper than listed since I'm buying a lot with cash.

I agree with this, but if you are good at haggling (something I hate) you can get a good deal. |

I agree with the haggling part of it. Sometimes I play hard ball and other times when I'm just trying to get in and out; it is just give it to me for what you said. Deals can be made and had. It depends on your determination to shop around in Yongsan from my experience. |

| As for a monitor I got something that I can use for a computer and for the living room. 32" was too small for me as a TV and 40" was way too big as a monitor. I went this route because I didn't want to be upgrading my screens constantly and I enjoy watching HD movies. There are plenty of 37" monitors on the market but most are selling around 700,000 to 1 million won. Note that some with TV tuner will not work outside of Korea but I've fixed that with a HD receiver. |
