Im pretty sure this is where I will be headed relatively soon. I've read ALL the posts on this part of town. The pros, the cons, etc. Some were years ago and this is a rapidly developing area, so I want to now what is going on with this place nowadays. All the posts I've read just give a whole lot of adjectives and not detail how this place is like. Hell, post a picture, write something with substance. Refrain from saying, it's not Seoul. Obviously, it's not and to compare the two is absolutely ignorant.

In particular:

Why do you or don't you like it? (Don't say yuppies because frankly that's crap)

Where do you live? How is it?

Is there stuff to do? Shopping, drinking, gyms, bars, places to grab a cup of joe, restaurants?

For a foreigner, are there lots of expats? People to meet? Or pretentious cliques?

Air quality? One of the main reasons I don't want to live in central Seoul.

Finally, how are the women?

Feel free to add info about the area.

Oh and this cyberstation thing is pretty sweet, so I'm well aware of travel times.

There are lots of good hiking trails in the hills nearby. They are great for mountain biking and there are a lot of locals into mountain biking (in some ways mountain biking seems to be the new golf for the younger trendier types).

Unfortunately hikers have started complaining about some of the bikers and a few trails have been closed to bikes.

I don't know about hot chicks though. All I ever saw there was sweaty men in bike shorts.

Bundang doesn't smell, which is nice.

The bar scene is minimal-- a couple expat spots-- if you are looking for ladies you will be taking a lot of buses/trains into Seoul. The closest place is Gangnam.

Im moving out of Bundang and Im gutted. I really like this place. My apartment was a gleaming clean white building with a nice view.

I now have to move into Seoul (dirty, dirty, dirty). Crying or Very sad

There is always monkey beach and dublin to hang out and meet foreigners. I think being located in bundang is a big plus for a hagwon.

I live in juk Jeon. We are putting together a BUNDANG Football club to join the Seoul Sunday football League. I've only lived in this part of korea for a year but it is hard to know if it will suit you without knowing you.

I have lived in Bundang for a number of years, and have just arrived back again. There are lots of little things which make it special in my mind anyway.
The air is definitely cleaner than Seoul, the streets are wider and cleaner, the buildings are mostly modern and attractive, there is a lovely park where you can get away from the hustle and bustle if you choose the right time, early mornings before seven are the best. Twent minutes by car takes you to the upper han river. Lots of nice cafes restaurants supermarkets many expats and a couple of expat bars both of which were mentioned already. I prefer the Dublin Irish Bar by an Irish mile great little place very friendly free pool free darts , and finally taxis are all over the place, so I would strongly reccomend it , if once in a while you feel the urge to head into Seoul a bus ride will take you between 20 and 45 mins depending on traffic and cost you 1300w, have fun.
