Didn't he introduce this same bill already?
It is grandstanding because impeachment won't happen. An attempt is also inadvisable. If it were to be successful, Cheney would take office and NO ONE wants that. If it isn't going to be successful, is it a good idea to stir up his supporters unnecessarily in an election year?
Many times a stand on principle is admirable and honorable. Sometimes it's just 'self-abuse'. This time, it's the latter. |
He previously introduced the resolution to impeach Cheney. I agree that Cheney ought to be impeached first. (Then Nancy Pelosi would become president?)
It is not grandstanding because less important than being tried and convicted is bringing the issues of lying and misleading the public to the fore. Even after they are out of office, they ought to be held accountable in whatever ways possible as a caution to future leaders. |

bill clinton got impeachment proceedings because he got a blowjob and lied about it on tv. uhhh... ok.
it seems like republicans are much better at having balls about little things. democrats can't even have balls about big things.
btw, kucinich is very popular in california. he also stood up to the mafia who ordered a hit on him in cleveland when he was mayor.
so if he's not scared of the mafia, why would he be scared of bush? |

He has 1/3 of the Judiciary committee on his side. Now if he can just the rest...
Of course it's moot without 2/3 of the House. And as long and Rethugs are in fascist la-la land with their love of Fuhrer Bush then impeachment won't happen. |

The Democraps don't want impeachment any more than anyone else. It ain't gonna happen. Just relax, the eeeeeevil Bushie will be gone in less than a year. I kind of hope that the Dems get someone in office. After 8 years of listening to liberals whinge, it will be nice to sit back and blast away at bad Dem "leadership" again. |

Is this taken from the Oliver Cromwell School of Politics? |

If Bush was a Democrat, he would have long since been impeached, tried, sentenced, and executed, and history teachers would be using Sharpies to black his name out of textbooks.
It's not so much that the Democrats don't "have balls" (well, half of them don't, but neither do half of Republicans), it's that the Democratic party is a much broader and less tightly-knit coalition than the Republican one. It's been that way for as long as I can remember, and probably always will be.
Will Rogers put it best: "I belong to no organized political party. I'm a Democrat." |

U forgot the Khomeni followers.
If they give up their war they can do as they want to.
Now go tell us some 9-11 conspiracy theories. |
Aren't the anti-Zionists and the Khomeni followers one and the same?
 |
Yeah but the Khomeni followers are out to get the US. |
So, that would mean they have something in common with roughly 99% of the world. |

| wannago for once has a sane point. The Democrats don't want Bush impeached because then they can't run against his crappy record this year. |

The fat lady ain't sung yet.
Then again, with an extension of the dual Bush / Klinton / Bush / Klinton monarchy,
who needs any more overtly extreme measures? |

But the Khomeni followers have actually targeted US forces. |

I'm pretty certain you were one of the leading proponents of that particular claim, but here it looks like you're trying to weasel out of it. |

Bush won't be able to pull that off since he has lost the support of the intelligence community.
Bush first pissed them off when he created a post above CIA within Homeland Security. Evidence of their disapproval was the release last year of The Family Jewels (about which I posted on your "Watergate legacy" thread), and later, the release of the National Intelligence Estimate contradicting Bush on Iran. Such support would be critical to any attempt at martial law/election cancelling. |
