Are those the god-awful things they sell outside army bases? The ones with the tiger prints/naked chicks etc.? Try the stores outside the front gate at Osan. You will be able to pick up some sweet black velvet paintings to add to your 1972 motif. Sweet.

Actually, they are acrylic mink, synthetic. I was wondering if there are genuine mink blankets.

A real mink blanket would be nice, a polar bear rug as well, but yes, I don't think I could morally buy either.

My uncle farms foxes and mink, by the way, and about five years ago he was feeding them seal meat because he got a good deal on it. Don't tell Greenpeace.

Oh how clever and quipy and funny you are . Isn't is fantastic in this day and age how cool its become to be apathetic about needless killing ?

Remember folks...you can't make "apathetic" without "pathetic" .

You're never going to win any converts being an ass. And, in case you didn't notice, I already agree with you.

What's needful killing, out of curiosity?

I am a big fan of Australian possum fur myself. Settlers in NZ made the mistake of introducing them to New Zealand about 130 years ago and now we have 70,000,000 of the little buggers. They strip the native trees of all their leaves, causing the trees to die, and they also eat native fledglings.

Groups such as PETA unfortunately seem to put across the idea that the entire fur industry is cruel and enviromentally-unfrlendly, but in the case of possums in New Zealand, wearing their fur actually helps protect the forests.

Just a simple yes or no question.

Someone was looking for them on their visit to Korea. You can buy them anywhere (the acrylic blankets) so i'm wondering what was so special about buying one in Korea. Even the ones you buy outside of Korea are made in Korea.

I think ESKIMO brand (with polar bear logo) of Korean-made mink blankets are very good quality - thick and toasty warm. They export to Middle Eastern countries (saw on their website).

I bought mine at a local blanket store when I lived in Korea, and a friend bought hers (same brand) at Namdaemun market. I've also bought another very thick mink blanket via Gmarket - dunno the brand, but better quality pictures on them.

What's so morally wrong with mink that makes you take such an extreme position?

I'm genuinely interested, so please explain.

People still buy those things? Those were a 'must have' item in the 80s, and they were ugly as sin back then!

Check around Osan or PyoungTaek in the military party villes for a limitless supply.
