After some debating about whether it was worth making this thread or not, I decided to ask you all this question. "What mistakes do Koreans make that I could use for my free study material section on my site?". I have been going through stuff like drunk/drunken, almost/most, one/won e.t.c. As you might have just seen, I also have a thread about how much the word foreigner gives me the willies.

If you have anything that I could make a lesson out of, I will do it and post it through the week on my site for everyone to use. Here is the address:
http://www.ausesl.com/
And the forum for that stuff is here:
http://www.ausesl.com/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=43
I just unlocked the forum so everyone can see the content without having to be a member.

If you are doing privates (not that Ausesl.com would condone breaking the law Laughing ), there will be some extra stuff there for your adult classes very soon.

Thanks

The other thing I was looking at is the stranger stuff we probably all heard as kids like: She's the cat's mother and you know what thought thought..I am just trying to figure out a good angle to approach it with.

Tact isn't my strong point Laughing
I am sure some teachers from Daegu would know that Laughing

Many of my students say "I'm boring " rather than I'm bored, no matter how many times I correct them.

Also no being able to pronounce the H sound correctly, usually sounds like Heeeee!!!

Are you fishing for content you can charge for?...
I know you said free, but I haven't found that section yet...

Edit: NVM.

1. Conditional description--> would vs. will etc.
2. Indirect and direct article indicator usage.

Nah, this stuff will be for free.
The only stuff that I will be charging for is the actual classes.
That stuff is blocked until we start a new teacher or student.
I want to build a forum with heaps of material that I can offer for free.
That way I can draw students into the site to look at studying with me.
And I would also like to help you all if you get stuck.
The downside is that most of it will be for 1 on 1 classes.

So basically you're fishing for free (desirable) content, the purpose of which will be to draw more students to the content that you charge for.

Nevertheless, seems like a fair trade provided the forum stays unlocked.

I would also like to be able to offer you all a place to go and get stuff when you get stuck. All ideas will benefit the site and anyone that is studying or teaching English.

Thanks so far for your help people Very Happy

If there are any teachers that are in need of a bit of extra free-talking material, just let me know and I will help you out. It will be printable stuff for 1 on 1 classes or you can teach it from the site with links to videos that are connected to the material.

Also, I can help you all out with some online IELTS study material too.

Lots of confusion with states of being and adjectives. Just this week I've heard:

I am so exciting (I am so excited)
He is very serious (his condition is serious)
I'm scary (I am scared)

A very common error is:
I very very like it (I like it very much)

A personal favourite:
Teacher! You Korean speak good (Teacher, you speak Korean really well)

Also the verb noun agreement.

In Hangul they'd say 'I soup eat' whereas in English it's 'I eat soup'
So they often make this mistake when speaking. 'I pc games play' or 'We hair brush'
