You feel that smog is no big deal and you'd eat raw onions or raw garlic with your steak.

-You throw kimchi across your empty apartment while screaming obscenities out your windows to the talking bongo trucks.
-You pour water into soju bottles and drink them at school in the hope of getting fired.
-You decide to pinch the butt of the korean woman who is with four korean men in sunglasses with tigers tattoos and bulging jackets.
-You cross the road blindfolded for fun.
-And the worse
You speak Korean to all asians, even ones who are from Canada.

Another twist on this one.
You find it annoying that complete strangers DO say, "Excuse me," just because they've come within an arm's reach.

You find attentive wait-staff too talkative, intrusive and annoying.

$17 for a bottle of soju is annoying.

Crappy cell phones, service and "..MINUTES.." are annoying.

People in your hometown ask where you're from because your accent got buggered hanging out with Koreans and Irish people. Annoying.

You realize that you are easily annoyed. Mr. Green

You crave jamchi jighe at night and then have it for lunch the next day.

Never thought I'd see the day I'd crave Korean food.

1) You collect air miles with Korean Air
2) Living in Gagnam is your idea of success
3) You think it's perfectly fine to pay 5000 won for a cup of Starbucks coffee
4) Your wardrobe consists only of stripped suits & shirts
5) You get hammared on soju and go to Karaoke on a weeknight

1) You object to the title of this thread because "It hurts our Korean souls to hear 'South Korea.' We are our country, Korea, not South Korea." --Rough paraphrase of something a student said to me a few months ago.

2) You seriously consider (if you're male) that maybe switching over from briefs to boxers might be smart. "We Asian people think like this: we have to keep our t-esticles cool." --Kid you not, folks: a direct quote from a Korean colleague of mine.

3) Now that Dear Leader of the South wants to make up to Japan and America, you suddenly find that total strangers are treating you with unexpected politeness, even speaking English to you. Anyone else out there notice this the last couple of weeks? It deserves a separate thread. Honest to god, I've gone from persona non grata to persona really re vera grata in just the past couple of weeks--odd timing, given that I'm in the process of finally checking out.

4) You assess the "stamina" value of every food you eat . . .

5) You see a white guy in the company of a Korean woman and you think, "poor, poor guy." Has he met the parents yet? Will he ever? Does he care? Does she? Can the great Korean race survive outbreeding?

6) Any destination with above-freezing temperatures in winter suddenly looks like Shangri-La. You've just come back from southern China, where it was cold, and have nixed China in favor of points further south.

7) You catch a glimpse of the full moon and instantly, effortlessly, unintentionally think "boreum dal." The scent of scorched rice signals "nurungji." Your coworker's trailing her scarf and you're about to call out "mokdori," wonder what the English word for it is . . .

then wonder how you came to be what you are. Semi-nativized in a country which doesn't take non-natives--at least not with a good grace.

Dear Leader 2MB may yet fix that though. Dear Leader was born beneath a rainbow, on Baekdusan, with a trio of Presbyterian elders from Somang church singing "Amazing Grace" at his cradle, gifts of frankincense and myrrh in their hands.

(b) u start pushing the ajummas back on the subway
(c) u stop ignoring "foreigners" and actually stare at them amazedly
(d) if u do speak english, nearly every sentence has the phrase "very delicious" in it.
(e) u start humming "tell me" by the wondergirls, and aren't even disgusted at urself any more.

You know what everyone is going to say or do before they say or do it.
