I"m the proud owner of a new 50 inch samsung pdp and was woefully dismayed when i plugged in my dvd player and noticed the picture looked like crap. any suggestion on how to improve the picture quality. Both my DVD players are old. The one doesn't even have s-video out. I tried using s-video out on the one that has it but for some reason the picture was in black and white. I think the picture quality was better but it was hard to be sure. Any advice? |

I found an english manual on the internet and found out how to use movie mode. That made the picture quality much better. but still not better than the picture quality on my old tv. So any further suggestions are still welcome. |

Buy an upscaling DVD player, or even better a blu-ray player. |

I don't think Blue Ray is all that practical right now for where I am. NOt too mention a bit costly. Do blue ray players upscale? Although I am intrigued by one that can upscale. But it would have to be region free though. |

You can buy a ps3 for 349,000 KRW at Emart. Its definetly worth it if ya ask me. But it would be korea region for blu ray discs. Not sure if blu ray players upscale or if they need to as they already display in fully 1080p high definition.
I know you can get Upscaling dvd players though, which should make a difference. |
