Banks and government services = no
Doctors offices and small clinics = no
Large hospitals = yes
Stores and retail services = Feb 6,8 yes - Feb. 7 most no.
There have been times in the recent past when some banking companies have turned off their ATMS and their bank networks for upgrades / maintainence and people have been left without cash for the holiday. Make sure you have enough cash for 3 days, just in case.

Good advice. Also, don't wait until 10PM Feb 5 to take out your money. A lot of the machines are already out of cash by then! Take out enough for the entire week on Monday or early on Tuesday.
This situation doesn't happen as much as it used to, but it's always good to plan ahead. |
