I would like to foster a dog but I won't be in an apartment until March 1st, and I have no idea where I'm going and if the apartment is going to be pet friendly or what. Sorry. |

Draz,
Let me know around that time still....We don't think the city will be able to move 130 dogs in one day, so we might be able to still sneak a few out after the deadline.
Thanks! |

We are staying in Busan the 6-8th, so we were thinking of going to Daejeon after we check out on the 8th. Bibi will be with a sitter so it will be the best time to get away. We are about three hours from Daejeon.
Are all the males fixed? |

Hey Scarlet,
yes, all the males are fixed. The university used to do it for free (vet students), but we did the remaining ones.
Not all the females are since it's quite dirty there, and we don't want them to get infected. It depends on their previous owners. |

Hi everyone,
we got a new idea:
This wonderful girl contacted because she wanted to get involved. Well, she has tons of ideas for fundraisers as she has previous experience. I've always been waiting for an opportunity like that so I hope it works out.
This message is to "feel" the people and see who would be interested in helping out. We were thinking about a kind of show with musicians and bands who would volunteer (we already have a few names, but would probably need more).
Also, people could donate money directly or objects they want to give so that we could put up a raffle or an auction. We would definitely welcome any businesses who would be willing to help! Maggie had people donating hammocks, books, and even a porn collection, so don't feel ashamed about anything!
In other words, anyone who has contacts for a venue/ music/ sponsership/ donations, please let us know! Think about your vet who could give some animal products....Of course, we would confirm what's the event before we actually ask for sponsors as it would look kind of strange to have no date or location...
Finally, anyone who is in Seoul and would like to directly work with Maggie to put something up, please contact me and I'll give you her email address.
We need to act quickly as the deadline for the shelter is coming soon, and we would like to raise as much as possible for that. Of course, any leftover money would be used for rescued / stray / abandoned pets.
Thanks!

Well, I discussed with "kermo" about taking up a collection at our February 16 "Seoul Vegetarian Club" "potluck" gathering at a member's spacious apartment (near Jamsil), and she thought it was a good idea.
However, she expects to be in Canada at that time, so it will be more of an organizational challenge to get a decent turnout.
Here's the link again for upcoming "veggie club" events:
http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=111566
The last time we met there, I think about 15 people showed up, but the place was large enough to hold about 40 people.
Realistically, without more help advertising, I could see drawing up to 20 of our club members, and they would just be asked to donate at least 5000 or 10,000 won - or whatever they could afford - for a vegetarian dinner (most of which I'll cook - probably mostly Indian savories ...)
All the proceeds could go for the animal rescue effort - and it would really help if a representative from your group could attend the event.
The large, sparsley furnished living room has a lot of floor space - and a piano - if "Maggie" can coordinate with "Lisa" (and "kermo" before she goes on vacation) to do a small-scale music/dance event (or karaoke competition...) along with the vegetarian potluck dinner... |

Great idea!!
I'll get "Maggie" to contact you or "Kermo" for the details.
Also, no problem about representatives!! We'll be there to help for sure!
Thanks a million!! |

Although the purpose of the veggie club is mainly to organize various social gatherings for vegetarians, I'm sure that many of its members would be happy to help out poor animals in an emergency situation like this, and "kermo" agreed that the February 16 gathering would be suitable for collecting donations to help out the rescue effort (if it's OK with the club member, Lisa, whose apartment we'd be using ..)
Here's the link again that "kermo" posted for upcoming veggie club events for anyone else who'd like to attend (and maybe help rescue some dogs on February 16...)

Are you planning on eating them alive? Will they continue to live in your stomach?
I propose the dogs be killed first and then eaten. |
