We all know Isaac the foreign clown on tv. He acts like a hyperactive crackhead on English educational shows. Some foreigners think he does us a disservice because he paints foreigners in a stupid light and then Koreans expect all foreign teachers to act like him. If he has no shame and can look at himself in the mirror then I say who cares, pay that fool.

But yesterday I was searching for a new phonics book and I came across one with his grinning mug on the cover. Called "Isaacs phonics through korean" or something. Its one of those phonics books that teach pronunciation by using the closest Hangul letter. Any decent teacher should know this is a big mistake. Poor kids will never have proper pronunciation. These books should actually be banned. And for a foreigner to endorse these is just awful.

Shame on you Isaac the Sellout Clown

Maybe we should pay HOMIE the clown to kick his ass.

Isaac Durst Escapes From His Cage

I dare not think about what kind of hideous man-beast would be born if he managed to impregnate a Korean woman, said Deputy Police Chief Lee Woosuk. The important thing is we bring him back to his pen where he belongs.

I think he has a very large family here already, hence the need to be a "sell-out" perhaps.

I actually went to middle-school with him in Berkeley, CA -- he was a year ahead of me so I didn't know him very well.

Imagine my surprise when I ran into him in front of Kyobo in Kwanghwamun, nearly two decades later.

Isn't he in some new ad on TV featuring anti-smoking gum or some such?

Isaac's father was one of the highest-level officials of the Moonie organization in the U.S.

I wonder if young Isaac was offered a role as an extra in the Moonie-financed disaster "Inchon" (1981).

Sir Laurence Olivier as General MacArthur is even more of a clown in that film than Isaac is on Korean TV.

I wonder what kind of coin he's making? Probably a hell of a lot!

Come on admit it. You guys were tight in middle school: in the Dungeons and Dragons club, making funny faces and silly sounds at each other.

Bull shit. He took that gameshow on Arirang from a snoozefest to a winner. He has a good sense of humour in it. People like him make Koreans more comfortable with English, so all power to him. It means more jobs for the rest of us.

And we have a winner, folks!

Actually, last time I spoke with him, he referred to himself as "Big Bird."

I, of course, am Oscar the Grouch.

I copied and pasted the hangul into google translate, and the result was "Mr. Issac" (honestly, try it!). Given that the second word is ajoshi, and I know that this word means a middle aged man in polyester clothing who stinks of soju, the translation made me laugh.
