Emerson DVD Player: Plays everything I've ever put into it--Korean, American, pirated, burned, you name it.

It's an Emerson DVD-8110. An MPEG4/DVD/CD/CD-RW Player with Progressive Scan.

If you can read Korean, check it out online: http://www.cjmall.com/prd/detail_cate.jsp?item_cd=10350147

Only 30,000!!!

Plus, I'll throw in a copy of "C'ocktail" (you know you want to watch a young Tom Cruise mix martinis...) as well as assorted pirated movies I have laying about.

If possible, I would like to avoid shipping, so Daegu buyers are preferred.

Does Region-free mean it will play any type of file? (AVI, MPEG, etc.)? I don't know much about DVD players and such...

Region Free means it will play movies that are made from any Region (ie, 10 countries in one region or England and Japan share region II another example: Korea is Region III (3))
But, the DVD player that is up for sale, by what the seller is stating, will play your MPEG 3, MPEG 4, AVI, CD's, etc...
The reason REGIONS are used is to control pirating and who gets the money from the sale of movies. Hollywood for sure was losing money on VHS, just buy the first one from Hollywood and copy 100 times. With DVD's they are getting smart. Although, there are ways around it of course. But, the average Joe in the average country won't bother. Just the tech junkies and Hollywood haters and cheapskates.

Region Free is designated by a stamp that looks like the WORLD and has a 0 in it.
Region 1 is designated by a stamp on the label that looks like the WORLD and has a I in it.
Region 2 is ..... blah, blah, blah....
