hey everyone!
I just faxed off my contract to teach in Ilsan and I was wondering if any of you could give me a heads up as to how Ilsan is as a place to live and work. I have never been to Korea and i leave in a little under a month and am starting to get a little nervous.
Also, if anyone has taught at a maple bear school maybe you can give me a heads up as well. I am a certified teacher and i have some teaching experience teaching kindergarten already...
cheers |

Hwajeong (it is one of the subway stations in Ilsan) is good for buying groceries and food. |

Maple Bear, she said. So no, not St. Andrew, may its owners and directors be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels. |

Ilsan is really nice. Plenty of shopping and excellent public transportation. |

I live in Ilsan.
I like it a lot.
You can get into the heart of seoul by bus in 50 minutes when you want to, but Ilsan itself has a lot to offer.
La Festa and Wetern Dom, are big outdoor shopping / entertainment complexes with all sorts of foriegn restaurants, bars, cinemas etc.
Lake park is a 5 km circumference lake with nice park facilities for when you want to get outdorrsy or go for a jog etc...
Jongbalsan is a small mountain with gym facillities (free) nat the top.
People in Ilsan are pretty laid back too.
Don't worry, you didnt make a bad choice!
PM me if you need any more info or have specific questions. |

My Korean friends tell me that a lot of Korean celebrities moved out to Ilsan because its cleaner, nicer, and has all the shops, restaurants you would need. |

beautiful!
thanks!
now i just have to get all this visa stuff sorted. today was the day to get my police check. I am visiting my sister and was supposed to catch my flight to toronto this morning in order to get my police check going but a storm came in and i am stuck in new brunswick when time is crucial at this point.
i hope i can still make it! I was excited about this particular job.
