Hello everyone,

I am just wondering if anyone out their knows if it is possible to get Medtronic pump supplies (Infusion sets, reservoirs, and Link test strips) in Korea.

I am seriously thinking of buying a year's worth of supplies to take with me, and just buy insulin when I'm there.

(I use a Medtronic Paradigm 722 pump).

Medtronic Minimed supplies are available in Korea. There is compatible equipment made from Korean suppliers as well.

If you send me the needle and syringe number for your pump (ex MMT-3_ _ _) I can get you more information and the contact numbers to get the pump supplies.

I can also recommend a good endocrinologist to see if you are in Seoul.

Well, I am still making my final decision about whether to go to Korea or not, but nothing else has appeared on my employment horizons as of yet.

Aha! So that's what they mean when they want to know the number!!! (Lightbulb moment!)

MMT-397 for Quick-Set infusion set
MMT-332A for reservoir

So far, I'm looking at a school in Daegu, but I haven't told them about my diabetes. It'll probably come up at some point, but I haven't even begun the application process yet!

Thanks so much! No one in Canada knows if pump supplies are available in Korea (and I'd hate trying to figure out how to ask for them in Korean!).

MMT 397 Infusion set is not available in Korea so you would have to buy that before you came.

MMT 332 A reservoirs are available at 3000 won each (about $3 cdn)

Just so you know, there are many similar insulin pumps available here as well so if there was a problem you could get it taken care of.

Would you have a link to websites that could show me what is available?

I may use a different infusion set if I see one that I like, but, if possible, I'd like to see what's available before I buy a year's worth, or risk going to Korea without extra supplies and getting something that I do not like.

I'll try to get a link to the website for you tomorrow. There are many good Insulin pumps available in Korea. The market is very competitive and I'm sure you could find one you're comfortable with.

I contacted one of the largest insulin pump makers in Korea and got some information for you.

You can visit the website at http://www.sooil.com/NEW/eng/main.htm

You can view their pumps here. They also offer home service and education. They have very good patient support.

hope this helps

I am on an Animas pump and I know that they do not have a Korean branch. Should I just bring a years supply or have my mom mail me supplies as I need them?
