A new Mexican restaurant has opened in Songtan across from Baskin Robbins on the shopping strip. The cooks are all authentic mexican nationals. It's the real thing. Best Mexican food I have had in 4 years here. Definitely worth checking out.

Its on line 1 going south of seoul past Osan. Its about an 1 1/2 from Seoul. Once you get to the Songtan station just get taxi and say "Front Gate". It costs 2000w. There is a long shopping street there. About halfway down is Baskin Robbins. Across from it you will find Las Casa restaurant on 2nd floor.

Prices range from 7-11,000w. Tostadas were 7,000. Fajita dish was 11,000. The portions were filling. Atmosphere was nice.

Sounds a little pricey but for those who aren't located around Osan and are in Seoul, Chois Tacos is highly recommended and heard that they will be adding some new items to their menu. Now, if someone would just sell us poor souls some tamales!!

When you are talking about a mexican restaurant being "amazing" and you just mention the fajitas and tostadas...there's something wrong there.

There's about a million places in Seoul that serve fajitas--it's pretty hard to mess those up, it's just marinated, grilled meat.

Tostadas, ok, a bit trickier--fried corn tortilla with refried beans spread on them and a smattering of meat, lettuce, tomato, and cheese.

Come on, i wanna hear about the Tamales...they have any good "Chorizo" dishes? Fish tacos? Enchiladas? Carnitas? Chile Rellenos?

For all those looking for a decent Mex Restaurant at a decent price, in a decent environment, check out the new On the Border in Sinchon(right near the station) Their next margarita night is on Feb 20th i believe--25k, all you can drink margaritas and food.

Check out their website On the Border

I can only comment on the food I ate. The menu items do include Tamales, enchiladas, chimichangas and a few others. Its a pretty good menu. Might try a few more things this weekend. Its a bit far for those in Seoul, but Suwonites and those around here might find it convienient.

It is far from Seoul, but I decided to head down and check the place out a few days ago. We got enchiladas, taquitos, and something that was like softish tacos.

The enchiladas were smothered in salsa verde, which reminded me a lot of Mexican platters in the Mid-Atlantic. The other two dishes used proper beef as opposed to ground beef, and they were damn good.

No burritos for the official dish I use to compare places, but it's definitely better than Bobby's was down there, and I'm kind of jaded about most of the Mexican in Seoul, as it's too dry and I can make better at home. Haven't checked out On the Border yet, but with so many people recommending the crap places in Seoul, I haven't got my hopes set too terribly high.
