I'm more concerned about how polarizing and divisive a Clinton campaign would be and how the Rupubs must be licking their lips at the thought of a Clinton nomination. I'd really like a few years of no new wars.

How are those two sentences connected?

Not hard to understand: Let me paraphrase, expand and explain for you:

Clinton is polarizing, she has high negatives, many people hate her, at normal times she would be unelectable, so the Republicans hope she gets the nomination as they have a good shot at beating her, and because they would surely lose to Obama, and if Hillary wins the nomination and the Republicans' likely nominee, McCain, is elected then we will have 100 years in Iraq, a new war in Iran, and the writer would like to NOT have any new wars for a while.

See. That was easy.

I actually agree.

I do not agree with Hitchens on many issues. He endorsed Rudy and is big on the war(s). But I like his writing and am in 100% agreement with him on religion.

Its overlooked that all the GOP candidates have high negatives as well.

McCain has a problem with the base.

Romney is distrusted by the Christian Right and National Security-cons.

Huckabee is disliked by the economic-cons and distrusted by GOP elite.

Rudy is almost dead in the water after losing Florida.
