I was looking for the Asus-e computer in the US, but couldn't find it unless I ordered online. Was only there for a few days, so I didn't have time to pick one up.
I'm searching for some sort of small device which will allow me to check e-mail and view Daves and other boards while around town (using free wifi -- not interested in paying for access).
Any ideas on other devices that I could get? I really don't want to spend more than 400,000 won or so. |

The ipod touch isn't what you're going for I guess? |

Can you do wifi from it for free?
I don't want to get locked into any subscription service.
I'm also scared of internal batteries. The wife has had 2 Ipods and both died within a year. Never again. |

I was lying in my friend's bed the other morning and didn't want to disturb her so just stayed in bed and borrowed a neighbour's network signal to watch stupid stuff on youtube with my touch. Short story yea it's free, I use any signal I can pick up.
I guess it's hit or miss with the batteries, my old ipod 3g or whatever had a battery that lasted for 3 years. |

1. It would be as free as any other wifi enabled device.
2. You can always send it in to have the battery replaced.
With that said, you'd probably have to use one for a while to see if it's for you. |

I have an EEE.
I think there are companies that will ship one to you from other countries...
With Wifi, yeah, you can just grab any signal you can... however, the Nespot service really is pretty good. They're everywhere around Seoul and it's really conveniant. If you use internet on the go a lot, it's highly reccommended. |
