I keep hearing about these sweet university jobs. You know, the ones that are like, 18 hours a week, four days a week, with four months paid vacation.
Personally I just want to know one thing:
How the hell do you get one of these sweet jobs?
I mean, not that my hakwon isn't super-cool, but seriously....4 months of paid vacation? I've got the traveling bone, and my current contract allots 5 days of paid vacation; clearly not enough vacation to scratch the itchy feet. Four months, however, would satisfy.
Is a Master's degree absolutely necessary? How about a degree in English Lit, a teaching certificate, two years of experience and an F-2 visa? How far would that get a brother?
Those of you with coveted uni jobs: there are enough to go around, please share how to get one. |

18 hours a week is hardly a good job also while 4 months is good 5 is better. 12 hours is good, if you can land a 9 hour job you're set.
Anyhow read this post and follow the_beavers instructions. despite being an older post it is still 100% accurate about how to get a good position. |

If there were "enough to go around", they wouldn't be coveted, now would they? Here's what you do: APPLY! Also, it helps to know someone already working at the places you apply, but I doubt some random poster is going to hook you up - we've all got friends in line already. |

Apply, apply, and apply some more.
Dress well for the interview, be prepared, be courteous, be professional.
Your qualifications are definitely enough to get hired. |

You don't need to teach at Uni to get 4 months paid vacation. A private High School might offer that too. But you will probably teach 20 hours a week. |
