I'm posting this on behalf of my friend.
I know this dog very well and can assure you that this description of the dog is totally and completely true and honest.
Due to me working 6 or 7 days a week and my wife about to go back to work, we have decided that we need to re-house our 3 year old female beagle. She simply doesn't get the love she needs and it isn't fair for her.
We have had her since she was a pup - they said three months old but we think younger. She was sick as you like when we got her and cost about 1 million in vets bills within three months, but since then we haven't been back for anything. She is out of date with her shots, but if you want her, we will get that done before she goes.
She has a very loving character and loves anyone who comes into the house. She is not a good guard dog and she would actually probably open the door for thieves if they were offering love before emptying your jewellry case!!!!
She doesn't bark, which is a huge plus, as beagles are renound for barking. She never has, apart from in play, and even then it is very, very rare.
She is trained to 'empty' on the roof which she does 99% of the time. If we are out for really prolonged periods, there have been rare 'accidents' on her verandah, but never in the house. She can hold it in pretty well if we are home at night, but she needs to go out in the morning. If you go out for a walk, she always makes sure she empties all around the neighbourhood.
She is great with kids - we have a 20 month old son and they play together all the time. Even when he is a bit 'rough' she never shows her teeth or gets stroppy. She just pulls away and they start all over again.
Anyone who comes into the house she will love. Anyone who talks to her when out walking she will love. She has lots of love to give.
However......
....she can't go off the lead as her ears seem to shut when she does get off. She runs the opposite direction, but will come back, eventually.
....she is greedy and you can't leave food on the side or on the table whilst she is in the house, or not food that you want to eat anyways.
....she is a noisy sleeper and evidently has lots of animals to chase in her dreams.
But......
....she spends 21 hours a day on the verandah and doesn't complain at all.
....she is a very friendly dog.
....she does clean the floor so you won't need to be contsantly looking for that bit of rice you dropped - she'll take care of that.
....she doesn't need lots of exercise but would love it if you did take her out everyday. As mentioned, she does empty on our roof twice or three times a day and that is all the exercise she has had for months, but she ain't a porker.
....she will come with an assortment of beds, toys, bones, bowls and a lead, and we will also gets her shots up to date.
....she is very good around other dogs and if anything prefers to avoid them, meaning that he isn't the kind of dog that gets into fights.
....you could breed from her if you wanted - she hasn't had the 'op'.
If you can give a loving a dog a loving home and don't mind that she can't go off the lead, then she could be for you. We are sad to see her go, but it is the fairest thing for her. Someone from the Korean dog rescue place is also looking for us as well, but has only recently started looking.
Contact me if you need to - [email protected] and maybe we can talk some more and you can come and meet her. |

I wouldn't be so sure. That dog is probably smarter than you. |
