Well I have been here for over 4 years now and have lost money here and there by scamming Koreans. In October I was not paid by a school and was owed 1.4 million won. I asked the boss and recruiter many times for my money. My wife told me to stay calm and be respectful, because this is the Korean way and if I get mad that will led now where.

Well today I had enough at the end of the month since October I have phoned this guy and asked if he had my money. Today he told me that he is still in money problems and can try and pay me next month. I was so sick of hearing this that I told myself if he said it again, I would go there and get my money anyway I could. So he said I told him I will see him this afternoon to get my money. He asked what do I mean and I just hung up.

I got to the school around 3pm and the look on Mr. kims face was priceless. I asked were is my money. He looked at me with a stupid look on his face. He then got up and tried to greet me like an old friend. I walked up to him and said where the fuck is my money. He began to say sorry but he has no money his business is bad. That is when I lost my cool. I realized here that you must force these lying, stealing, cheating SOB's to do what you want or they will give you the run around forever.

I asked once more and did not like the response. I picked up his monitor and threw it against the wall. I asked were is my money(plus a few more choice words). He looked at me and said he did not have it. this is when I pushed him hard into the wall. He fell and curled up like a baby. I picked him up and dragged him to the bank downstairs all the while tell him out loud why he does not pay his teachers and why he uses very bad books and that no one should send their kids to his crapwon.

He withdrew the full amount and handed it to me. He then said sorry about the confusion and that his English is not that good.

I got my money, plus I hope that he never tries to screw another foreigner again with pay. But after today I'm so glad I'm out of teaching going on 2 months. If I had to do this every few months it would drive me mad.

Police will be talking to you soon. You could be in real trouble if there was a Korean witness that saw you attack him.

I hope this was tongue in cheek. I agree with going there in person but I don't agree with the use of violence.

This is how gangsters do business in Korea (and many other places).

Nor do I. But if the school still continued in business since October, they are considered to be a going concern.

Each situation has to be evaluated on its own merits and if the school was down and out that would be one thing.

But if the school was operating, he should have a measly 1.4 million.

Actually, I do not believe the OP and I think this story is a bunch of.

But , if he has a Korean wife (he didn't say) , he had plenty of time to sue.

If his story is true, I hope the authorities come a knockin on his door.

Is it OP? Incheon airport is not that far away. I would suggest ( if you are not making this up) heading that way.

What is it here? Chicago in the twenties?

No it is not.

How many Canadian government officials would come to Korea to work at a desk answering questions. The government can just pay a Korean 9 bucks an hour to do.

Are you serious ? You sound so proud of yourself . If I ever had to resort to anything like this it would be over something a liot more significant than some money , and I'd keep it to myself .

What do you want ? The lads all to pat your bottom in the locker room ?

i was going to post that, but of course its quite possible for someone married here on an F2 to hold down 2 part time jobs. Embassy closes in time to fit in a shift at a school.

However all doubts are removed when you realise Shaunnew has a penchant for exxageration.

My father in law asked for money each month. I agreed on one condition each time I punched him in the face. I told him this was my tradition. So I gave him 300,000 in 5000 won notes. He never asked for a penny again after that.

small vandalism for more than $10,000
small violence for more than $50,000
serious injury for more than $100,000
For 1.2 million won, just sit in front with a sign...you need some class. Do you cut off fingers if someone steals your paper clips?

If I had the time and in the same situation, I would have simply stood outside of the hagwon, giving flyers to the students to give to their parents stating that the old foreign teacher was standing outside of the hagwon and giving the flyers because I had not been paid for several months and that the parents should protest until all the money has been paid by changing schools. I would have not specifically libeled anyone, nor would I have had to worry about assault charges...

I wouldn't have smashed a monitor, I would have started to walk away with it if I wanted him not to have it.... plus, free monitor Very Happy
