A list for the remaining candidates as president only, not as opponent in the election this year. I.e. if you had to wave a wand and wake up to a world in which one of these people were president for the next four years.

My list:

Ron Paul
Barack Obama
Hillary Clinton
Mitt Romney
Mike Huckabee
John McCain

What's yours?

Presidents whom I'd be happy with:

1st Clinton
2nd Obama
3rd McCain

Presidents whom would cause me to worry about my country:

5th Ron Paul
6th Huckabee

Hard to imagine actually being President, much less what the hell he'd do as one:

4th Romney

I saw the first 20 or so minutes of the Rep debate and I mean they looked civilised compared to the democrats...I think the dems are kind of shooting themselves in the foot with all this fighting between a woman and a black person...Too much is decided on race or gender...Not a good thing for one of them when they become president...

Fav to least
Hillary Clinton
John McCain
Mike Huckabee

I'd be very happy with Obama, I'd vote for Hillary, I'd tolerate McCain, and I'd be disgusted with any of the other ones.

In all honesty, I do not see any drastic differences between Clinton and Obama. In terms of their policies, promises, etc. they are not that dissimilar. I agree that it is becoming more of a personality contest than anything else and I am tired of watching them banter and argue like 5 year-olds during the debates. This behavior will not solve anything, it just illustrates how misguided the politicians are and their incredible ability to undermine the American people and the election.

The Republican nominees are far worse. When I watch their dabates, it is like watching a travelling circus of freaks. How the American people can even consider electing a candidate that does not believe in evolution is beyond me! Religion is overly dominant in American politics and even more so within this party.

My favorite candidate, Joe Biden, dropped out a while ago. I then moved towards John Edwards, but now that is a long lost dream. Amazing, how we can never vote for the candidates we truly like. Instead we have to choose between the lesser of two evils.

Anyway, with the options available, from favorite to least favorite:

Clinton
Obama

In no way do I want a Republican back in the White House, but if that is the way the election turns out, McCain is the only candidate which would not completely terrify me!

Either way, I am not too hopeful! Smile

A president I would enthusiastically endorse: Clinton/Obama

A president I would knash my teeth over: McCain

A president that would embarrass me with foreign friends: Romney/Huckabee

A president that would terrify me and make me concerned for the future of the republic: Paul

edited to include the forgettable Huckable

Obama
Paul
McCain

No-one else.

Hillary absolutely not. A career girl with less than replacement level fertility rate in the best job in the world? Sets a bad example.

Ron Paul's Prospects Look Up In Maine
By GLENN ADAMS, Associated Press Writer
Thu Jan 31, 5:04 PM ET

AUGUSTA, Maine - Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul has a couple of things going for him at this weekend's Republican caucuses: a band of highly motivated supporters and a natural appeal to Maine's like-minded independents.

His stop in the state earlier this week also made him the only presidential contender from either party to visit before the caucuses.

"I think that (because) he's paid attention to Maine, he'll be rewarded," R. Kenneth Lindell, Paul's campaign coordinator in Maine, said Thursday.

Maine's GOP polling Friday, Saturday and Sunday may be the Texas congressman's best shot at winning a state, and such a feat would be big coming just days before next week's Super Tuesday presidential preference contests in more than 20 states.
