The big supermarkets like LotteMart, Homever & Homeplus have no clue how to organize products. Why is it that spices are located on three different aisles and each aisle has some of the same, but some different as well. Really does parsely and oregano belong with the baking goods like chocolate chips & shaved coconut?

Speaking of baking each of the above mentioned stores sell ovens and stock baking supplies like baking powder, soda, flour, sugar, mixes etc, yet they don't carry any thing to bake your baking in. Where are the cake tins, muffin tins, cookie sheets etc? The only place that i've been able to find these are at Hannam mart. I'm sure you can get them online or namdaemun, but why can't you get them at the shop that sells the damn ovens?

Nachos on one aisle, salsa on another, nacho cheese on yet another aisle, Ketchup on 2 different aisles, pots and cooking utensils in two different locations at opposite ends of the store. Wouldn't want to make it easy for people to find what they are looking for would you.

AAaaaaaarrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh........

this rant brought to you by my third cup of coffee and 3 months of looking for baking utensils...

This baffled me too. You can also get baking pans, etc at Costco, btw.

Certainly disorganized, but I've bought nice Wilton loaf pans, pie pans, and cookie sheets from my Homeplus. Sometimes they are on the same shelf as the baking supplies and spices, sometimes in the housewares with other pots and pans, and sometimes on the clearance shelf.

Try another Homeplus?

Same here. bread pans, cake pans, muffin pans, and cookie sheets. Pie plates however took some looking for.

I'm in (working) in the Gwangju in Gyeonggi and I live in Bundang.
I think you are in the Gwangju down south (aren't you?)

And I got my stuff at the Home Plus in North Suwon (by the sports complex).

It's genius.

Ever hear of impulse buying? Grocers back home organize their foods in such a way that you must pass by as much unrelated product as possible to get what you ultimately came for.

Koreans stores take it to a whole new level.

When I went to Homeplus for a teatray I was hoping to get a plain, modern-styled teatray. What did I find? No less than 12 flowery, fancy, fringed ajumma-style teatrays. Not one with a plain or modern design.

That's how Korean supermarkets work. If one item sells slightly well, they take out other similar items and try to flog one kind of thing to death.

Look how many kinds of green tea and flavored teas there are in Korean supermarkets. Dozens!! But can you find even one kind of Black Tea?

Well, I must admit it's been ages since I've been to homeplus since it's rather far from here. I alternate between homever and lottemart. Will have to go to Homeplus soon...

I have noticed this with spices... at least by looking for some of the spices and making sure I had to look EVERYWHERE I found whole cinnamon and it was delicious... now if only I could have found real vanilla, not this marshmallow powder they have here (already imported what I needed, except plain oatmeal)

The main thing is putting non-food near food items--and packing them into the same bag at check out.

clueless people.

And there in lies the rub. If they'd only stop thinking of some foods as 'foreign' and start classifying them according to use, our OP would be a little less stressed.
