I'm in Ireland and this is my speed.
When I used the recommended ping server in Dublin, the speeds were about half.
I pay for a static DSL 3MB down line. Costs me the equivalent of about 60,000 won... Torrent downloads vary wildly for me but I *very* occasionally get a torrent down at my maximum 300kbps. Far more common is an average speed of about 50kbps which is less than wonderful but is better than nothing....
Can't wait to come over to Korea in March and get hooked up to an ISP with some mad skillz... I'm going to be in Daejeon - any recommendations on who to use and what I can expect to pay? I'd like to get a 100MB line (or higher if possible...)
Anyone? |

I did this to help my bit-torrent download speed: http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=tools -- I'm not sure if this had any effect on this particular speed test.
I also ran this little utility: http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php - ran the tests and configured for optimum settings.
I also changed a few registry keys that I can't recall right now.
If anyone makes these tweaks, run a speed test before and after and report your results please! |
Before running the Tool I was getting about 3500kb/s down and about 9000kb/s up
here is the results after using the tool:
funny thing is, it didn't actually change the speed in which i download when using usenet or torrents......very strange me thinks.....am i being throttled? |

Any ideas how I can get my upload speed up to anywhere in the same hemisphere as my download speed? I'd really like to be able to more smoothly host games on the PS3. I can play them with no lag when I'm not the host, but as host for people from outside Asia, it's terrible.
Is this something I would have to call my ISP for? |
