| I'll be moving to Choelsan later this month. Does anyone here live in Choelsan or Gwangmyeong City? I'd like to make some contacts in the area. |

| I lived in Cheolsan for 2 years, 2005-2007, its a pretty good place to live, at Cheolsan station there are plenty of places to eat, bars, hospital, dentist, doctors, banks, gyms etc etc. It's pretty much a bed town for people who work in Seoul so there are many hagwons (Poly, Kids Club, CDI, ECC, New Wonderland, some small independent ones, as well as the GEPIK teachers) there which also means there are a few foreigners around. Many foreigners live in the Bobistell which is close to the subway station and across the road from an astro-turf sports field. Cheolsan is actually just across the Anyang river from Garebong (Gasan Digital Complex) so its close to Seoul and the E-mart at Guro and the Lotte Mart in Guil. Where will you be working there?? |

| I will be working at a public elementary school through GEPIK. I can't remember the name of the school, but it is a pretty big one about a 5 minute drive from the station. As for accommodations, I don't know where they will be located. I am not sure if they are close to the school or not, but they will be in Choelsan. I'll find that out on Monday. |

What a prison. 4-pyong one-rooms, everyone chainsmokes, next to a damn 6 lane road. Noise, heat, smoke, paper-thin walls. Beside Guro-gu, what crap. I never want to go back to goddamn Cheolsan dong. Yuck. |

A 4 Pyong room? Are you kidding me? That's barely enough room for a bed and a dresser. I've never seen the apartment yet nor have I signed the deal. If the housing looks like that it is almost a surefire way to reject the offer or demand housing allowance. I have way too much stuff for such a small place. Plus the contract stated all the things the school would provide such as a queen sized bed.
Trust me, I will not submit my documents to the school until I have seen the apartment. I came to Korea to teach not feel like a prisoner in my own home. |

Decent studios are not expensive in that area of Greater Seoul. Demand a place that is at least 18 pyung.

I will. This contract is through GEPIK and the school is about a 5 minute drive from the city. I'll need at least 18 Pyong to hold all the stuff they promised me, in addition to things I own.
I am not going to judge them, but I already told the school that I need to see the accomodations when I meet with them on Monday. I hope they don't try and place me in a casket for an apartment. |

Was it a GEPIK job? Why did you refuse it? Did it have anything to do with the housing? |

| No, it was a temp job at a local school. It's near my home (Bucheon). I refused it because the pay was too low. |
